  5. copies of the software for the sole purpose of backing up your software
  6. and protecting your investment from loss.

  18. P. W. Allen warrants the physical diskette and physical documentation,
  19. enclosed herein, to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for
  20. a period of 60 days from the date of purchase if originally received
  21. from P.W. Allen.  In the event of notification within the warranty
  22. period of defects in material or workmanship, the defective diskette or
  23. documentation will be replaced.  This warranty shall not encompass any
  24. other damages including, but not limited to, loss of profit, special,
  25. incidental, consequential, or other similar claims.

  53. The distribution of Flexbase is via the shareware marketing method.  You
  54. are free to try Flexbase for a 30 day evaluation period.  If you use it
  55. to develop databases for ANY use other than testing Flexbase then you
  56. MUST register your use with the author and pay a registration fee of
  57. $25.00.  This inexpensive amount will bring you a registration number,
  58. telephone support, support via a bulletin board system, and a printed
  59. manual.

  62. Users are encouraged to freely copy and pass out Flexbase under the
  63. following conditions:

  65.         The complete package must be distributed. This includes diskette
  66.         number 1, diskette number 2, the disk resident user manual,
  67.         and the free-running demo. These may be archived into 4 parts
  68.         for uploading to telecommunication systems.

  70.         No charge may be made for the copies. This software is not to
  71.         be sold by anyone except Patrick W Allen. Legitimate
  72.         not-for-profit user groups may charge a copying and media fee
  73.         for disks containing the Flexbase system of no more than $6.00
  74.         per disk. Any not-for-profit organization wishing to charge a
  75.         copying or media fee must contact Patrick W Allen for permission.
  76.         (This clause is necessary to protect the author's rights).

  79. by encouraging the author's of the software to write more and better
